Alot of people have recently remarked to me that I'm very wise beyond my years and I seem to be the person people come to for advice.
I've been thinking about it, but where does Wisdom actually come from?
I've read alot but I know people who have read 10 times more than me yet I don't consider them to be wise.
I think about problems alot and again I know people who do so more than me, and yet again they do not seem to be Wise.
So how come people comment on my wise ways where others that they also know are much more knowledgable than I?
Is Wisdom linked to the fact that I am able to look at Life without blinkers on and also think out of the box, as they say?

Wisdom is different from knowledge. It is an art, the art of living. Reading books is useful to the extent that the reader "dialogues" with the book's author; above all, he will have to think over what he has read, so to internalize the content. Knowledge without spiritual growth is useless.
Plato said that wisdom is "The knowledge with which he [the man] discerns good and evil"; of course he is then expected to behave accordingly, doing good actions. |

Wisdom can be defined as the coordination of "knowledge and experience" and "its deliberate use to improve well being."
With this definition, wisdom can be measured using the following criteria.
A wise person can discern the core of important problems.
A wise person has self-knowledge.
A wise person seems sincere and direct with others.
Others ask wise people for advice.
A wise person's actions are consistent with his/her ethical beliefs.
Seems you fall into one or more of these categories Willie! _________________ Regards,

I don't know the exact meaning of "thinking out of the box", even if I guess that it is the ability to have a broader sight (pls. confirm!)
If the foregoing is true, yes, Willie, you are a wise man, indeed. |

Yes, Brother, that's what it means. Seeking outside "normal" parameters. |

The wise bit is recognising the normal parameters in the first place! _________________ Regards,
